For years, the Need for Speed series from Electronic Arts was likened to Simon Cowell's musical endeavors: absolutely devoid of talent, despised by critics, but enormously popular because to its relentless marketing.
Then, after EA acquired Guildford-based Criterion, the company behind the beloved Burnout video games, it turned its compelling abilities to 2010's Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, which finally added some real class to the proceedings and is still played today.
Criterion's follow-up to 2005's Most Wanted borrows its name and hazy structure, but as any gamer would want, it plays more like Burnout. So it would be an understatement to say it was highly anticipated.
